Maureen Roe B.A. B. Ed.
Registered Clinical Psychotherapist
My professional career began as a teacher in both the elementary and secondary school system. I became a registered member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) and then obtained additional qualifications in special education and guidance counselling. My professional teaching experience has included work in Special Education, supporting students with learning disabilities as well as those with Special Needs. This work became the foundation upon which to build a psychotherapy practice.
Learn more about Relational Psychotherapy
Degrees in Education and Psychology enabled me to pursue my interest in Psychotherapy and receive training at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. As a result I am a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists (OSP).
Each summer, for many years, I have traveled to Kingston, Jamaica where I have volunteered my services in the needy community of Riverton City. In 2003, in response to needs within this Jamaican community, I established the Riverton Family Centre, which provided much needed social services to its community members. In 2007 I established the Riverton Camp and International Leadership Exchange as a means of providing needy children respite from their daily life and a chance for them to broaden their horizons.
My varied experience compliments my expertise in individual and youth counseling and has evolved into a thriving therapy practice with offices in both Toronto and Barry’s Bay.
